According to Senator Dino Melaye, spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign, Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the incumbent ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), was intentionally absent from the signing of the Presidential Peace Accord on Thursday.
Earlier, the Daily Post reported that while all other presidential candidates were physically present at the event, which took place in Abuja, Tinubu was represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
On Thursday, reports surfaced that the APC candidate is now in London, United Kingdom, amid rumors that he is suffering from a health problem.
Dino responded to Tinubu’s absence by posting a video on his Facebook page in which he claimed to understand the ex-governor of Lagos’s absence.
But he omitted to mention the explanation for the APC candidate’s absence.
Dino Melaye said, “I noticed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only presidential candidate who was absent at the signing of the National Peace Accord today. He was obviously the only one absent.
“I know why he was absent. Unfortunately, there was no provision for thumbprinting. You definitely have to sign it. Atiku signed and that is all I have to say. ”
