The Manchester United match against rival club Chelsea has been confirmed by the Premier League on Friday.
For the first time in the 2022/2023 season, both rivals are meeting each other. Manchester United and Chelsea have met for 60th time since the Premier League began, with the Blues edging the head-to-head figures in the Premier League with 18 victories compared to United’s 17, while there have been 25 draws.
Chelsea’s home fixture against Manchester United in the Premier League will kick off on Saturday, October 22 at 5.30 pm and will mark the 61st time both rivals meet each other again in the Premier League.
However, in the upcoming match between the two clubs, United’s away ticket allocation has been reduced from 2,994 to 2,370.
The Metropolitan police had earlier decided to cut United’s allocation down to 1,500, but an agreed figure was reached after negotiations.
United have written to the 2,994 fans already allocated tickets for the Stamford Bridge clash.
“Everyone at Manchester United shares the inevitable disappointment and frustration about both the reduced allocation, and the long delay in confirming arrangements for this game. Over recent years, we have made significant progress in protecting away ticket allocations for our fans and we can assure you that we will continue to fight for this in future. Thank you for your continued loyal support,” the letter read in part.
