Abbas Ramon better known as “Hushpuppi“, who is currently under the custody of the Federal Bureau of Investigation still awaiting his sentence as an Internet Fraudster, has just tendered his apologies and appreciation to presiding Judge Otis D. Wright and the U.S. justice system for “upholding the law against criminals like myself.”
Hushpuppi apologised for his actions, and he also appreciated the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) for the thorough investigation that brought to his arrest in Dubai and his prosecution in the U.S.
According to the handwritten letter addressed to Mr Wright and filed on Friday at the United States District for the Central District of California, Hushpuppi recognized his crimes and apologised to both the law enforcement and to the victims.
The letter reads;
“I will like to specially apologise to the victims in the cases I’m involved with from count one to five…,” Hushpuppi wrote. “I apologise to the law enforcement agents who have worked tirelessly to make the world a safer place and to the U.S. Attorney’s entire office for the great work of upholding the law against criminals like myself.”
According to the letter, Hushpuppi recalled joining Instagram in 2012 to share his style online and noted the expansion of his business into “real estate, entertainment deals, luxury fashion and automobile sales.”
Then in 2021, Hushpuppi got involved in a serious bergain with the U.S authorities, and was admitted to a multimillion-dollar fraud charges. The authorities also recorded other crimes he was involved in like; hacking, banking fraud, cybercrime, scamming people and many other he committed in and outside of the United Arab Emirates.
Also in the letter, Hushpuppi wrote;
“Your honour, I totally recognise the seriousness of my offence, and no amount of sorry can write my wrong in the hearts of the victims, and this is why I have decided to use my personal money to offset all of the entire $1,700,000 restitution even though I only benefited a fraction of $300,000,” Hushpuppi wrote.
