JAMB Top Scorers in the Last 10yrs and Their Current Conditions

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is the exam body known for announcing the top scores after each UTME examination every year.

We tend to forget most things that aren’t in the present moment, as we do with many other things. This piece, provided by TheCable, will remind you of these kids’ dedication and perseverance.

While a few of them were unable to be reached, the majority of them are in good health and, more importantly, are happy.

Let us have a look at the lives of the top JAMB UTME scorers during the previous ten (10) years.

 

Lists of JAMB Top Scorers in the Last 10years

  • TOP SCORER (2013): Olise Israel Chukwunalu Olise
Israel Chukwunalu scored 299 in the 2013 UTME as the top scorer. Afterward, studied medicine and surgery at the University of Ibadan (UI) in Oyo state. Olise reported to TheCable that he is now a medical doctor and currently works in Ibadan.
  • TOP SCORER (2014): Onomejoh Princewill
Onomejoh Princewill was the best UTME candidate in 2014 with a score of 299. He continued with his academic brilliance at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) where he graduated with a first class. He was also the best graduating student from the institution’s faculty of arts for his set. Princewill said he is currently a lecturer at UNIBEN and will be done with his masters by next month.
  • TOP SCORER (2015): Ilukwe Lottachukwu Geradline
Ilukwe Lottachukwu Geraldine got 332 in 2015 UTME. Geraldine is now a lawyer and consultant based in the United Kingdom. She attended the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in England where she bagged second-class upper in law.
  • TOP SCORERS (2016): Akenbor Adesuwa Osarugue and Anonye Victory Emenike
Akenbor Adesuwa Osarugue and Anonye Victory Emenike both scored 359 in the 2016 UTME. According to Adesuwa’s father, she is studying medicine at UNIBEN, while Emenike is currently in her 600-level it the University of Jos (UNIJOS) where she is currently studying medicine & surgery. Emenike disclosed that he was not “recognized” for the UTME feat then and struggled financially in school.
  • TOP SCORER (2017): Akingbulugbe Precious Ayomide
Akingbulugbe Precious Ayomide got 353 in 2017 UTME exam. However, He was unable to be reached. So, no one knows his whereabouts. TOP SCORER (2018): Galadima Israel Zakari Galadima Israel Zakari got 364 in 2018 UTME exam. Zakari is currently a student at Covenant University where he is studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering. His LinkedIn bio says he would graduate from the institution this year.
  • TOP SCORER (2019): Ezeunala Ekene Franklin
Ezeunala Ekene Franklin got 347 in the 2019 UTME exam. He was not granted admission because he was 15 years old at the time. He later got a scholarship to study Computer Science and Mathematics at Columbia University in the United States.
  • TOP SCORER (2020): Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu Agnes
Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu Agnes got 365 in the 2020 UTME exam. Agnes is currently a student of Mechanical Engineering at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, United States under the institution’s Karsh scholarship programme for international students.
  • TOP SCORER (2021): Monwuba Chibuzo Chibuikem
Monwuba Chibuzo Chibuikem got 358 in the 2021 UTME exam. He is currently studying Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of South Florida in the United States. According to his LinkedIn profile, He is expected to complete the programme by 2026.
  • TOP SCORER (2022): Adebayo Eyimofe Oluwatofunmi
Adebayo Eyimofe Oluwatofunmi got 362 in the 2022 UTME exam. He was unable to be reached to identify his whereabouts.
  • TOP SCORER (2023): Nkechinyere Umeh
Nkechinyere Umeh is the latest UTME top scorer. She got 360. The governor of Anambra state, recently granted her a full scholarship choice at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU). She was also given a scholarship to study any course of her choice at Anchor University, owned by Deeper Life Bible Church. The student applied to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
