Following the installation of the streetlights, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, the construction company in charge of the Second Niger Bridge, tested the illumination on the bridge.
The bridge, which is now in its last stages of construction, will soon be commissioned and made available for vehicle traffic, according to Babatunde Fashola, a former governor of Lagos State and current minister of works and housing.
The federal ministry of works and housing, along with the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, are managing the Second Niger Bridge, a federal project (NSIA).
In September 2018, work on the bridge got under way.
The bridge connects Asaba in the Delta state with the communities of Ozubulu and Ogbaru in the Anambra state.
