The passing of the Monarch of Kogi State, Maigari, Dr. Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III, has been announced by Muhammed Nalado, secretary of the Lokoja Traditional Rulers Council.
The 80-year-old Maigari passed away on Wednesday evening in a private hospital in Abuja following a brief illness, according to a statement released late on Wednesday.
The Maigari, Late Dr. Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III ascended the throne in 1992 as a traditional ruler, and since then he has been on the throne, making him the longest-serving monarch in Kogi State.
Also, according to the statement released late on Wednesday, it says that the late royal father will be buried on Thursday in Lokoja at 4 pm.
